In 2003, Vasil graduated from the Faculty of Design at Udmurt State University, where he studied industrial, architectural, and graphic design. At that time, design was just beginning to develop in Russia, so his teachers were artists from the classical school who passed on fundamental knowledge to him.

In 2010, he successfully completed his studies at the British Higher School of Design in Moscow, and in 2012, Vasil received an invitation to the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts residency in New York, becoming the youngest artist selected. In 2023, he was curated into the ArtRussia exhibition.

Today, Vasil serves as the Design Director at MTS Fintech, previously holding positions as Design Director at Tinkoff and BBDO Moscow.

Vasil actively participates in social life, being a member of the Union of Designers of Russia. He also supports charitable foundations such as "Our Children," "Share Food," and centers helping homeless animals.
Vasil Akulov was born in 1980 in Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic. His father comes from a family of Kuban Cossacks, while his mother is from a Permian family. Vasil spent his childhood surrounded by factories producing industrial machinery, cars, motorcycles, and weaponry, which significantly influenced his views on ecology.

In 1997, Vasil graduated with honors from art school after six years of study. During his education, he participated in an international group exhibition in the USA, held at the Institute for Peace Studies in Billings, Montana. The theme of the exhibition focused on ecology, and the three works he presented received high praise from the organizers.
